Audience and Prerequisites

  • This qualification is ONLY available to candidates who already hold the Manager’s Certificate in IT Service Management (V1 or V2).
  • The examination has been written on the basis that in preparing for the examination all candidates will have attended an accredited training course and will have read the ITIL Service Lifecycle Practices core guidance which includes: Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation, Continual Service Improvement, Introduction to the Service Lifecycle (Optional but recommended).
  • Candidates that took their Managers exam a few years ago and are not familiar with ITIL® V3 will also find it useful to digest the basics and test their understanding by using the publication: Passing Your ITIL Foundation Exam - the ITIL Foundation Study Aid.

  • Introduction to ITIL® V3 and the new thinking around Service Management best practice
  • The service lifecycle – what it means for you, service management and your customers
  • Service Strategy– a look at the customer base, business aims and expectations to ensure that the service strategy maps onto these
  • Service Design - takes new or changed business requirements and develops a solution designed to meet the service requirements whilst creating service value
  • Service Transition - covers the management of changes, configurations, risk. Validates the service design and release against service requirements
  • Service Operation - covers the business as usual activities to operate the services and infrastructure
  • Continual Service Improvement – provides the guidance on ways that processes and service provision can be improved
  • Exercises to consolidate the learning experience
  • Mock examination
  • Invigilated 90 minute closed book complex multiple choice examination paper of 20 questions

Location and Timing

  • Our public Managers Bridge courses are based in London. They run over 5 days from Monday at 13:00, finishing at Friday lunch time. The 90 minute exam is on Friday morning.
  • This course can be delivered on site to facilitate a better understanding of the approach to using ITIL V3 to address challenges that your organization faces.
