Jo is an enthusiastic and experienced IT Service Management consultant and trainer with over 20 years experience working in the retail, finance, telecommunications, and public sectors. Her most recent consultancy was as Head of IT Services for the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) and HM Treasury. Her assignments have also included a role of IT Director at a UK food manufacturer and the realignment of organisational structure, process, procedures and tools to ITIL best practice at a major UK financial software provider.
Jo’s dynamic approach to management, results in strong motivational leadership and communication skills. She has previously managed teams of over 200 people across international locations including the USA, mainland Europe and South Africa.
Jo has held budgetary responsibility for over £5 million and has been instrumental in delivering cultural change and cost reduction by promoting the adoption of ITIL and efficient Service Management processes resulting in savings of over £15 million in her previous roles.
During her time as IT Service Director for Fisher Foods, Jo managed the upgrade of the world-wide network infrastructure including sites in mainland Europe and South Africa. During this time she also managed the purchase and installation of a new food manufacturing site in Johannesburg including all production line hardware and software, and the installation of all IT services at the site.
Throughout her career Jo has managed 7 re-alignment projects to implement ITIL best practice which have resulted in savings to the organisations of over £5m in total. This has included all aspects of cultural change including restructuring, defining process, structuring management hierarchies, training, tool selection, supplier tender and contract negotiation, and also redundancy counselling. She has covered the full range of activities within project management from initiation to closure.
At OGC and HM Treasury Jo managed the refresh of the entire printer suite and also implemented a refresh programme for the entire desktop hardware which included defining a refresh policy through to implementation of the rolling refresh programme.
Jo is an accredited ITIL trainer with both ISEB and APMG examination boards and holds the ITIL v3 Expert qualification.
She has written and delivered Service Management training programmes and overviews and has provided one-to-one coaching. She has also compiled training courses tailored to clients specific requirements.
