Dag is currently engaged in leading the strategic ITIL and ISO 20000 initiative at a major electric utility company. He guided the crafting of the executive strategic goals and vision plans including leading the strategic assessments. He worked with the leadership team to craft a two year plan to become ISO 20000 certified. He has written most of the ITIL procedures for the company, ensuring that the policies and procedures were compliant to the national NERC CIP governance and compliance rules. This enabled a strong audit and compliance framework for the company.
Dag was a global business process strategist for Educational Services at BMC Software, responsible for guiding their clients on Best Practices and Governance issues. During his 11 years at BMC his responsibilities included managing the global ITIL Education practice and he was also part of the company strategy team on Governance, compliance, and ITIL V3.
Dag has over 25 years of IT experience. He spent 14 years at IBM and holds several patents from his development work at IBM. He has an M.S. in Computer Engineering and an MBA equivalency from the University of Texas, Austin.
Dag is Service Manager (Masters) certified, ITIL® V3 Expert certified, and ISO/IEC 20000 Consultant/Manager Certified. He teaches all levels of ITIL classes.
Dag is the program chair and board member of itSMF Houston Local Interest Group. He is also a member of the APM-Group’s ITIL Expert Panel that governs the development and management of ITIL Best Practices. He is an assessor, auditor for APMG.
Dag was part of the team that contributed to the Best Practice Insights books. He also just completed authoring the “Step-by-Step Guide to Building a CMDB for ITIL V3” book.
